cold sessions...a german summer

Obligations are done (more or less). As a german child, I am obligation!
Only freedom...red passport to travel!
And the last message I should take with me, was a bad one about my health...one more reason to follow the ocean and enjoy the surf & train body and soul!

 Now
-
sitting at Madrid - airport, waiting for my connecting flight to Morocco, I have enough time to remember my last two month.
And for you, I present my story about water, passion & difficulties...
Next to this story, happend further more stories which should help me understand my way thrue our times.

I was so much afraid to stay in germany for longer time, now it´s done and I am glad made the experience I had to make!
Retroperspective, alway can say:
EVERYTHING happens for a reason!

---------------------------

HELLO GERMANY!
Yes...that is how it was...
But:
bad weather means, more wind as usual...the shining hope which let me continue my way up to the Baltic Sea.

From rain into sun and other way round...that should be my routine during the next 6 weeks.
Already showed up, while beeing on the road.

Arriving the sea,
I expected some windsurfing, but wind was not enough and thunderstorms passing by.

Ok, no stress...my day to say hello again to the sea draw near, that´s what the forecast said ;-)

Luckily, I picked up a good friend from Fuerte, passing by in germany as well, to share my first days in the north.
Otherwise, maybe I would have turned around after meeting the german camping folks.
No way could not stand this!
Looking for free camping - style like always, close to the water!
Not sure, if I will manage this for more than one month. But surprisingly no one stressed me!
Where are the patrollers...other things to do or nobody here during this times?

no rain...let´s roll to work

Wonderfull, my first days of work started very gently. A place, where I once made my first on - the - job training with windsurfing. Now after 8 Years of permanent teaching, the most easy spot to work...ecxept! the temperatures, grrrrr
"I am gonna visit Rerik in the summer." I thought before, no worries, summer is warm!
Worse luck! Not this one.
Well, after living 5 years in the south of Europe, I am not use in northern weathers anymore and...my suits old or thin...first need to work and than looking for new wet suit.
Everything doesn´t matter at the beginning.
All I was excited about, was the amazing forecast and to windsurf old known spots with new experience.

The surf school offers some of these inflatable SUP´s. So, Katrin and me had to go for a test session after the morning lesson.

Katrin checking paddle characters...

...and me looking how to windsurf this thing. And it was quiet funny. It was not completely blown up, because it is very hard to fill it up only by manual pump.
The result was additional balance training :-)
All together it worked well with low wind conditions.

One day actually, I had a floating session with it. But it felt like I am stoked in the water.

And finally...the day X of the summer 2016!
My boss did not start to prepare our mobile school when I came in the place.
Very good sign :-)
To much wind to give lessons...free to windsurf.

And for sure, it was blowing since two days now and last night, there was a storm, hard to sleep in the camper van. I already prepared myself for an cold session and started thinking about my route I will take to check the spots.
I did now, I am very close to one of the best working spots with this rare winddirection.
Proud to be here and happy for this big big present, I recieved only one week after beeing at this place.

check one...to on shore, do not prefer
Check two...top spot!
Very crowded with surfers as well..."crazy" I thought.
I was early like 11:00. The crowds  will come later...jump in the water!

Wind was soooo strong...my smallest sail only 3.9qm and the boys went out with 3.5qm.
Sure, I will be overpowered. But need to give a try!  These conditions are only one or two times a year! And I am here.

Uff, coming out was not that easy, the shore was crashing in a two second rhythm on the slippery rocks. Little different from what I was known.
Gasty the wind was working at my sail, and me hardly could close it.
Only waves, flying from on wave to an other. And the second intended jump was the beginning of the end of my session. The sail bursted out of my hands, trying to hold it with the right one, it damaged my shoulder immediatly and I felt a pain. F...I need to work, this is not true now!
Swimming a while between the impact zone, and the cold water felt like it slow down my muscle work about 40%, I gave second run, but my shoulder makes lot´s of trouble and all in all I was too over powerd with my sail...I decited to quit the session.
With the right stuff would have been a great session...other times!

Next day at work sitting inside my van, little damaged, was hard work to motivate myself to go out in the cold and wet area...and this should hold on for a couple of days...

Brace myself and keep on going...the body says no, but no time to listen to it...work needs to be done.

Some sight seeing after work, the DWC was in Kühlungsborn, so I gave a visit.
First I had to rest and could not do windsurfing for my own.

I keep on concentrating on my work and on healing my shoulder.
And wind was not so strong anymore..only for some flatwater sessions...
No reason to stress myself!

best spot for beginner training, watching our students having good progress
But I started again having some fun with my teacher equipement.

Got some nice girls visiting me during my "Girls closer to ocean" camp.
Was great to inflame new windsurf lovers!

Wow...after 4 weeks we received an enhancement. My body was crying cause of luck!
Some relaxing...because building up a mobile school with a damaged shoulder was no fun...and this every morning and every evening, and the cold weather give it´s best not to feel better with this situation.
But our little angel came right in time! Thx for help!

Little more relaxed at work...more energies to surf!
During my lunch breaks I could enjoy several flatwater ridings like this.
I used my 97 l board and a 5.3 qm sail...was perfect for this spot.

Felt better again...now needed some wind!

Do you know how to dance for the wind??
Me yes! I know...

Well done!!! One more wavy session.
First a little warming up with my small board and still had to wait, if we really gonna close the school.

After half of the day I could leave and I went to the other side.

One fellow of mine, a becoming windsurf instructur, attended me and so I received some pictures.
Was unusal for me, but a nice feeling too, somebody outside looking for me.

I mean, going out alone here was really no problem...everything was save!
No rocks, no big currents, no big fishes ...very relaxed. I enjoyed these easy way of windsurfing. Even though, I am not used in this side on conditions. Looking for what I can do with it and how to take the waves...it was fun.
I wished, having some more energie left for a longer session, but 5 weeks of work now and the stormy warm up made me tired.

Little rest before going out one more time.

4.2 qm and 62 l, what a great combination!
Loved it!

Time passes by. One last view at my daily working place.

And small sightseeing at Wismar.

Found this over there.

Yourself, you have to be the change, you wanna see in the world.

"Something new beginns every day,
with every human, with every conversation.
Something new, always means a part of change.

And the one, who allowes the change,
moves on a way into the future."

Time to move again!
First family & friends and then back to Atlantik Ocean.

flashing lights, full moon return into berlin city, August, 18th 2016

Flowers and nature...I loved all the colors and freshness every day at the sea.

Moon energie, if there have been no clouds ;-)

Thx to everyone who made my visit in germany a special one!
Was nice to meet old friends and get to know new lovely people!
Hope to see you all soon again and sorry to each of you, I did not managed to visit!
Aloha

Road trip Morocco to Germany

After one more winter living in morocco, my visa time runs out and I had to leave the paradies of WAVES, WIND, amazing nature and great food.
As well, to leave so many nice and relaxed people was hard to me.
It is always the same, sad about leaving and ecxited about the new journey. Afraid of the European rush, but obligations are waiting!

Last winter I had not a good run in case of surfing and windsurfing. Some injuries took me out of the water several times, had to rest a lot.
But therefore I made many experiences about living there.
Actually, I ´d liked to start out some work over there but honestly, I had to discover it is not so easy for me. I am not a business women and next to lokal people, looking for a way to live in their own country, which is hard to them, I decided to stay only low budget and let them their work.

Sheima, keep on rippin` and stay strong!

all I can say: PEACE people, we are all the same!
Pictures captured by my little surfer girl from Tamaraght beach while playing with my cam.

Much better and relaxed life to enjoy the waves and ocean without competing them.
Life is so hard for everybody over there! So, a life without money was hard for me too, but in the end it worked out.
Took my last money to get out of the country.
I went on buying my ticket for the ferry back to Spain with last Dirrham I had. Little afraid not to come back...because the boarder cross was crowded like the hell and I was about to miss my ferry.
And yes, did miss it!! But no prob...ticket was valid for one year ;-)
Catched the next one.

Spend my waiting time after a 900km journey best way while preparing some traditional food in its home country.

Finally, got the boat to arrive before sun set in the south of Spain.

one more time bye bye morocco

and hello other side

Bildunterschrift hinzufügen

To be back in the most windy area of Europe was a great feeling, here I managed my first waterstart ever, long times ago...feels like home, easy going windsurfing again.
First day starting with a nice overpowered session at Valdevaqueros.
Visiting a good windgirl friend at her homespot and arrange a little privat lesson...some money back in pocket ;-)

my most favorit gear 62 l and 3.9 qm...always happy if it fits with the wind

atomic Levante, crazy session

First internet stop show me my slogan, not to forget while moving up north into the rush!
Time and people, lifestyle will change with the journey...so I hardly have to work on not forget what life really is about!

inside a small beach bar of Tarifa.

Levante still blowing with full power and some swell is about to arrive...nothing more to do, then moving further to the west. Only a 40 minutes drive and the new challenge shows up...
some waveriding is waiting.
Waves with perfect size and wind fitting for 3.9qm...had a wonderful session. Like so many times before, alone again without knowing anybody but only one more windsurfer on the water.

in love with this place

Three days with wind came to an end but waves still on.
Right on my way, I gave a visit to the nicest beach break in Andalucia,
El Plamar.

Times to surf now!

Riding some small waves and enjoying the time, waiting for Patrick, a good friend and mentor in the water, passing by. Some days not beeing alone! He also was coming from morocco, but turning back to Fuerte.
Again lucky, that some big swell hitting the coast. For me a little big...was not really my comfort zone but I  managed getting out and trained to stay relaxed :-)

El Palmar, not clean but very amazing for June!

Patrick and the waves where leaving, so I continued as well my way further north. Never before I managed to visit Portugal...so I had to see it.
You never now, if you gonna pass by again...so just had to go for it.
Travel money was hardly counted to reach Germany, but already got a massage to pick up a good friend in France..so we could share the longest part of it all. And one girl for privat coaching was waiting for me too...why not, all will work out, I was thinking.

Yeaha, new roads and new impressions, new mentality and new language...upps...forgot that.

Yallah, let`s go!

Impressed by nature and waves, I so much loved the time in this to me unknown part most westerly of Europe.
Weather and waves have been like a present to me and I slowly came back into old shape. My body was working again in nearly old condition, so one surf session followed an other.
Only trouble, my old wetsuit was no more keeping the very cold water of Portugal...sometimes freezing a lot and short session! grrr
Godfather gave me more surprisingly work...trip was payed.
Now time was running, only one more week left to be back to Germany right in time, I had to leave...

flower power in Portugal

Ericeira with wonderful spots

development the way I like!

one day of windsurf in Portugal

Nazaré, sleeping place with high energies ;-)

After all...last step, France.

on the road again

into a full moon night

morning beauties next to my sleeping place

after the mountains, comes France.
France was a final destination before leaving the Atlantic Ocean, I did not expected.
High temperature, gentle ground swell and off shore winds...
My last session ended nearly with a barrel, but one section closed to early. Completely stoked, I left the Atlantic Ocean.

Not believing, I will not see the ocean now for three month...
was hard to leave!
My friend, I met in France, and me, we was moving our departure day by day for one more day.
But when the waves stopped, we left like 2 days to late...hitting country roads, back, to pass a summer in Germany.

Now I am here and it feels not like summer...shit happens!
But therefore it has many windy times ;-)
Looking for the journey down south again...back to the ocean!
