I watch the forecast for Sidi Kaouki, Morocco and I am a lucky one again :-) it´s supposed to be windy & wavy too!

Tomorrow I go to have a Rendevous again with moroccos coastline. To live and see more windsurfing and surfing and...to teach and coach my first "girls closer to ocean" chicas at morocco...

So, if you like to join our watergirls community, come to morocco...till the 23. septembre and take some lessons with me or just be with us, having a great time in the water...

and for sure, to enjoy the wonderful lifestyle of morocco, a little break from europe.

 Honestly, after 7 month over there, I feelt too much stressed here in our world!

People: take it easy and slow down!!!

My last windsurf session is now more than two weeks ago..and I so much look forward to have my next one. Therefore the last one was amazing!

This summer at Fuerte the windcondition have been rare. But these day was a real present for summer times. Very special winddirection, which made it possible to meet some groundswell hitting the westcoast...which is rare in summer as well...and I always wanted to sail these spot, since I have seen it! I was lucky not to discover beetween a winterswell.

Perfect wave...stoked for the rest of the day! was a morning session ;-)

Wind was low, so I hesitated because of my to small, for these condition, 62 l board and my porous biggest sail...and the peak is a little far outside...

But if you are a lucky girl, some of you windsurfmates is coming and proposes you to use his board :-)...so I had my board with enough volume to reach the peak.

Finally, I went with a "wichcraft" again...using first time a different board is always strange to me...so I felt not very comfortable. But the board excactly new what to do, while the beauty reaches me to form into a wonderfull summer wave...and me at the perfect point, just to go with her flow! Yeeess! That´s it:

only perfect! 

After that the wind droped immediatly into zero...so my worst fear about this spot became reality. No wind!
I don´t want to be take out or into an other peak by current. And don´t like so much swimming around at this corner...
Well, not that strong current, so manageable. After paddeling more than 30 mins I arrived the f...riff, cut my heel deep enough to be out of the water for now nearly two weeks. Doing no sports, not being able to walk in the right way and feeling pain all over my legs, because of the wrong way of walking, I hope I will be fine tomorrow! Some surfing was possible, but only two times. It is really time to be back in the Ocean!

Sorry Dude! I guess without me, he hadn´t had to swimm.

I wanted to try a new board of them, but until now not possible, hopefully when I am back in october.

was nice just to sidle around and follow the process of forming a new board...

but first I prefer to grab an old shape, which is more than enough for my skills!

nice evening atmosphere, only few people at the water, wonderful colors...

Lovely, no waves but heavy winds at one of the famous windsurfspots of the world...at Risco del Paso. After moving to the north of Fuerte to join more the waves of the ocean, it was a great feeling not only going out under power with my biggest sail 4.6 qm...

Instead I was overpowered with 3.5qm...the result was going for some jumps again :-).

After hurting my rips two years ago too much, while trying some jumps, I was scared to go on with this but flying gives a lot of fun too and I feel more comfortable now and my windsurfing skills developed into more control.

Additionally I went out with my longest known windsurfing friend from my home City, Berlin, so I felt really strong at this moment...

To join the water with old friends, espacially if you have been grown up at the same "lake" ;-) gives me such a big pleasure.

M(R)E - TURN - SESSION

The reason to come back to Fuerte this summer was showing up last days :-)

Yes yes yes :-)

first day the spot is working...gimmy more, gimmy more more more...

 

I saw the forecast and was more than excited if the spot, I so much wanted to sail again, is gonna working. My last session I had here was now 10 month ago...and it made me go crazy for this wave.

I wanna learn to ride this beautiful thing! 

It supposed to be a windy week but maybe not strong enough and the wind not from the right direction…but be patient and let´s see: I said to myself. So it goes…the first three windy days have been enough to enjoy some nice after work sessions at my new trainings spot but not for the spot I am looking for! Day four of wind…day off…perfecto! The wind pics up and it seems the direction is turning as well. I went for, to check out the place to BE and what I found wasn´t  bad nor good but it had some gently waves, only the wind! Nearly to less. And I hate it, to go out knowing, not beeing enough wind to feel well on my small board. Non off my windsurfing friends had the time to join me and accordingly most of them are not on island right know to give me support weather go or not and none of them here to give me mental support in the water. But don´t worry girl: you know the spot, no big waves and you developed your skills in windsurfing … so easy pgoing! I saw the waves and could not stand the time to be in between. I rigged my biggest old sail and went on my own. Two others riders already outside gave me the savety I need.

Easy…not gliding but enough to come forward to reach the point step by step while getting upwind. Even the low wind jibes worked quit well…two waves…happy...

On a further run to come out again the water so clear, the wind so low, the ride so slow I enjoyed the beautiful colors of the water and took a look around the surface…a little too much!

Suddenly had a get together with an underwater native. I`am always afraid of this moment! 

And yes, I can say: this was the end of my relaxed session…legs and arms shacking, nothing works anymore…most of it my head. Going more and more outside, I was afraid of turning with the low wind. But out here it´s not gonna be better, I had to turn…of course I fell inside! More shacking muscels! Waterstart…fits…fine. Went back upwind, took one more wave and directly went out of the water absolutely running out of energy I quit the session.

Spend my whole night with reprocessing all pictures in my mind of that day.

Day five of wind… finished work and crused again to watch the spot. Much more better than the day before. Bigger waves, more wind, better direction but very gasty on and off.

Some more sailors in the water…good. Fighting with my emotions I managed to go out for an other ride.

Luckyly, because the waves have been awesome to me! Little over “girls”- head- high rolling inside the bay with the shape of the perfect side off wind direction !

I managed a couple more waves than the day before. I still was riding with fear and not relaxed enough to just enjoy and try good turns in the waves. Feeling every single muscle of my upper body I was falling asleep a little sad, still not being brave enough to enjoy these presents of the ocean in the right way.

Fuerte flashes back!

So fast it goes...after seven month I am back on Island of Watersports :-)

my trip to morocco was thrilling & amazingly wonderful...

If I take some time to select the pics I have...I´ll gonna present you here later! 

But what happened to Fuerte?...

I expected some windsurfing here, and what did I became,

 lovely surfdays nearly the whole month of june.

Less, till no winds, small waves, crystal clear blue water...I felt like being at Hawaii, but never have been there ;-)

Well, if we are flexible and check the conditions well, we always find a good place to surf at Fuerte!
So I did, had some time left till start to work...and so I discovered the North Shore with small swell...

and I found lot´s of surprises :-)

And had looooot´s of FUN!

Finally I had some really nice days and was lucky gettin` the chance to discover some waves and reefs with easy conditions while surfing, before I try to windsurf them :-)

The Beginning

You know the feeling, waking up and unbendingly wanna do one special thing?

I knew this with windsurfing!
But as a 15 year old Berlin City-girl was one question...where?
I started searching for a place along several lakes in and around Berlin. With success!
Finally I got my first lesson and an impression what it could mean to windsurf.
Easy going, light wind, flat water, summer, everything worked well. 
A new passion was born!

During my January stopover at home in Germany I found these pic´s in old photo albums and had a flashback into long ago times :-).

If I was not at school, I was here.
A lake at a corner of Berlin called Grünau.

Because it makes more sense to me being on the water than visiting school, it was quite normal that two of my teachers, who have been worried about me, waited at the bank of the lake to take me back to school.
By the way, big thanks to them! Their behavior made it possible for me receiving the sheat of paper with scores, which you call "Certificate of qualification for university matriculation". :-)

Finally 18!

First Sail, first Board, first car.

First trip to the Baltic Sea.

The circumstances forcing me to study in the middle of Germany with a small variety of lakes.
A time, I could not improve much on the water but the desire was inside.
However, as a student you have semester break...good luck!
Got a VAN and started to discover south of France, make my first highwind experiences and additionally a new passion starts growing up:

 TRAVELING by car! Being where I want to be, just being free. I still love it!

Next step: Atlatic Ocean...after France comes Spain...

Waterstart, wavy conditions, surfers community...Ocean! "My place to be, the way to BE!" I said to myself. With these impression I couldn`t stop to interupt the innermost feeling to come closer to that magically meterial. And so it goes on and on...

Tomorrow I´ll be back in the water!

Fuerte background

15 years dreaming...two years exercising...now only loving... 

the result: 

only go on living that way :-)  

After two years now choosing Fuerte as my home, I decided to spend a couple of time at an other place this winter. Looking back at the time in the water here on island, I feel like having learned so much about the ocean and the way how to surf. But knowing there is so much more to discover.

I wanna thank all the people making it possible to me to spend more time than ever before on the water, by supporting me with cars, sofa, equipement, jobs, teaching me and pushing me to fight many fears...
