only surfing...

No wind but waves. So I went more for surfing and catched my last wonderfull waves at the end of the wintertime here at Fuerteventura. After one year of surfing now, I´m proud to present you some pics of a very nice session in the south of the island.
One year ago I saw the first real waves in my life and now I am able to surf some of these beauties. Not good but I surf ;-). Since I was 15, I had the dream to spend my life at the ocean and getting used to it. Now after one year and a half having left germany, living in my van and a couple of new friends I met, I realize that my dream is about to come true. Thank you so much for your special support in as well as out of the water to Chris, PatrickStephanFrank and Kai. Aloha

better took the smaller ones...

And now...I am looking forward to a good windseason!!!!!!!!!!

Cotillo´s first embracement

My session before last I gave a third try to windsurf Cotillo at Fuerteventura. A beachbreak well known for his close outs. But however...I was there, Wind was on and possibly one of the last winter swell hitting the island, I decided to accept the new challenge. A crumbly feeling came over me while thinking about my old mast and powerjoint and the fact that I have no money left to buy new stuff in the case I break it...

...and this happens if wind drops down and you think too much!

After swimming a while I got my stuff back expecting it destroyed, I was happy to see that I can go on windsurfing. With the next try I came behind the Impact zone and it followed a session without further interruption but therefor with lots of new perceptions about timing and active surfing.

Thank you Patrick Mazur for coaching me this day and Maksim Grigori for catching this moment from another point of view ;-)

North Shore Impressions

The last month of my winterbreak I spended in my van only to surf and windsurf, before I finally started to work now again. At the beginning my Notbook died, that I really could enjoy the trip ;-) Sorry Mum and Dad for not being achievable. Now at the end...my car was about to die...but I am achievable again! Make now my experiences as a surfinstructor in La Pared and work on to present you more about my latly surf and windsurf sessions. I loved them all...thx to all my friends with I could share these wonderfull moments!

North Shore flooding by plastics

after one hour work at Punta Blanca
Toward over a week of windsurfing, I´m really tired now! Good luck that the wind is off now and a softly swell hitting the west coast of Fuerteventura. A great time to surf again and explore the reefs of the North Shore. But is so hard to see all the wast around the coast line, it is flooded.
Some people ask me, what I´m doing if I do not surf or work for money...
One option is: to WORK FOR THE OCEAN my friends! And maybe I´ve already removed some wast of you too ;-). Reducing Plastics starts in the supermarket every day!!! I´m not the best ideal with surfing and windsurfing equipment, I know. But you can be sure I´m gonna recycle my stuff or repair it before buying new ones!

an one week party!!!

different kind of view for me at day 3
Now four days done with high wind conditions at Fuerteventura and I´m totally f..... The first two days have been great with wonderful side-off wind to ride lot´s of chica-waves ;-). Yesterday i went out completely overpowered with 3.9 and 62 l . Tried some jumps and riding small waves. Hard but also fun session. Today I had some power left for an half hour session until I capitulated and now I feel my body like never before. Only three more windy days left ;-) good night I take a rest.

not a Sunday coffee party

Yesterday I followed my surf buddies to experience the North Shore surfing. I knew, if I go with them, i will join an adventure, learn new things an go to my personal limit. And so I did. To bear down my fear of sharks and wanna get a feeling for real paddle distance, I went out with them to discover an outside reef break with 2.5- 3.5 Meter. For sure I did know not to surf any of these waves! Imagine us quite save, we where approaching slowly to the point. I guess I will always remember my last view out to the ocean before I started to paddle as fast as possible not to end in the breaking area...because there has been coming a FREAKY BIG set! Only two waves...cool...i thought...relaxing again. But no...further 5 more of these monsters have been rolling under me and two of my buddies, while never interrupted to paddle out out out. The third of them was to far inside and joined a get-together under water. After standing this situation I prayed to paddle back to get out of the water. We have been watching the ocean more the one hour before gettin`inside. But the ocean is surprisingly and unpredictable with it´s energy and you never know what can happen! Thx guys for my Sunday adventure especially to Kay...best surf coach on island! The feeling, to know why I am here at this place, became ones again stronger...closer to the ocean! I LOVE IT.

Surprising conditions at my training-spot Sotavento.

Normally I´m used to have something like "flatwater" at this place, but these day was incredible wavy.
Result after the session: wanna more!
